The Peel Group
The Peel Group is a leading infrastructure, transport and real estate enterprise in the UK with assets in excess of £5bn. The Group holds significant investments in a number of growing businesses including Ports, Airports, Media, Energy, Land, Developments, Investment Property, Environmental assets, Hotels, Utilities and Advertising as well as a portfolio of investments in quoted companies of around £500m.
In the North West, the Group’s proposed £50bn regeneration initiative for the Ocean Gateway spanning the next 50 years, aims to create an integrated approach to planning and delivery of major projects in the region which stretches over 50 miles, encompassing the North West’s great cities of Manchester and Liverpool.

The 149,000 sq m (1.6M sq ft) Trafford Centre is one of the main tourist destinations in the Northwest, attracting more than 38M visitors each year. Peel Environmental
Peel Environmental Ltd is responsible for the development of the Groups renewable energy assets, and these include Wind Power, Tide and Wave Power and Energy from Waste.
Peel Land & Property
Liverpool Waters and Wirral Waters fall within Peel’s Land and Property Division. This division has a UK property and land portfolio of approximately 850,000 sq m (9M sq ft) of investment property and over 11,000 hectares of land. Peel also has overseas investments in Bermuda, The Bahamas and Spain.
Peel Airports
Covers the North of England catering for over 7M passengers each year and are owners and operators of:- Liverpool John Lennon Airport, Robin Hood Airport Doncaster, Sheffield Durham Tees Valley Airport
Peel Ports
Britain’s second largest port group handling more than 67M tonnes of cargo a year. Within the Northwest Peel own and operate The Mersey Docks and Harbour Company and The Manchester Ship Canal. Peel Ports is the North’s gateway to world trade, handling over 40M tonnes every year.
Peel Media
Peel Media are developing Mediacity:uk that will see the creation of the UK’s first, purpose-built media city. The 200 acre site at Salford Quays will be home to BBC North in 2011 as well as other world leading broadcast media brands.
