An outline planning application for the whole Liverpool Waters site is due to be submitted in March 2010.

The Shanghai Expo will run between 1^st May-31^st October 2010, and provide an opportunity for the Liverpool Waters scheme to be internationally promoted. Peel Holdings is the lead sponsor of the Liverpool Pavilion during the six-month event. The Expo is expected to attract around 70 million visitors and is predicted to deliver up to £50m in benefits to the North West and Liverpool over the next decade.
