Liverpool Waters Wins “Beautiful Spaces” Award at Liverpool BID Celebrates Awards 2026

Liverpool Waters has been recognised for its ongoing transformation of Liverpool’s northern waterfront, winning the prestigious Beautiful Spaces Award at the Liverpool BID Celebrates Awards 2026. The award recognises businesses that take pride in creating attractive, welcoming and well-maintained environments that enhance the appearance and experience of Liverpool city centre.

Organised by Liverpool BID Company, the Liverpool BID Celebrates Awards recognise the businesses, organisations and individuals that make Liverpool city centre a welcoming, successful and vibrant place. Liverpool BID Company represents hundreds of businesses across Liverpool city centre and works to support investment, improve the visitor experience and champion the city as a leading destination for business, leisure and culture.

Liverpool Waters was shortlisted alongside Bombed Out Church, Free State Kitchen, Royal Albert Dock Liverpool and Municipal Hotel, with judges selecting Liverpool Waters as the overall winner for its commitment to creating a vibrant, accessible and attractive destination on Liverpool’s iconic waterfront.

Designed and masterplanned by waterside regeneration specialists Peel Waters, Liverpool Waters has evolved far beyond a traditional development project. Under Peel Waters’ long-term vision, the waterfront has become a thriving mixed-use destination and neighbourhood that is home to thousands of residents, supports thousands of jobs and welcomes visitors from across the city region and beyond.

Over the past year, Liverpool Waters has continued to invest in making the waterfront an attractive place to live, work and spend time, introducing a range of new amenities, attractions and experiences that celebrate its unique waterside location.

Designed to encourage active lifestyles and greater use of the waterfront

Working with a growing network of partners, Peel Waters has helped bring a number of innovative attractions to Liverpool Waters, including Wyld Sauna’s floating sauna, Vibora Liverpool Waters’ floating padel courts, The Bus Yard’s food, drink and events destination, and WeSwimRun’s open water swimming sessions.

These sit alongside a large outdoor screen for major sporting and cultural events, three striking public art installations, a tranquil waterfront garden, secure cycle storage and electric scooter hire facilities, all designed to encourage active lifestyles, sustainable travel and greater use of the waterfront.

Combined with a strong commitment to maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment, these investments have helped transform Liverpool Waters into one of the city’s most exciting destinations while supporting the ongoing regeneration of Liverpool’s historic docklands.

While the award recognises the success of Liverpool Waters today, Peel Waters is continuing to invest in the creation of high-quality public spaces across all five neighbourhoods that make up the development.

Work is now well underway at Central Docks, where plans include a new five-acre public park that will become one of the largest green spaces within Liverpool city centre. Designed to celebrate the area’s dockland heritage while creating a welcoming environment for future residents, workers and visitors, the park will feature play areas, new walking routes and extensive landscaping. Historic cobbles from the former dock site are being carefully reused within the design, while the restored dock water and canal corridor will run through the park, creating a distinctive waterside destination for generations to come.
