The Bus Yard Opens At Liverpool Waters
The Bus Yard Brings Food, Drinks and Summer Vibes to Princes Dock, Liverpool Waters
Liverpool Waters welcomes a major new food, drink and events destination as award‑winning hospitality brand The Bus Yard opens at Princes Dock from Friday 1st May.
Liverpool Waters is set to welcome a vibrant new addition this summer, as The Bus Yard opens a brand‑new waterfront venue at Princes Dock, transforming the dockside into one of the city’s must‑visit destinations for food, drinks and live entertainment.
Launching from Friday 1 May, The Bus Yard Liverpool Waters will take over the dockside space throughout the summer, offering residents, workers and visitors a lively, alfresco place to eat, drink and unwind in one of Liverpool’s most exciting waterside neighbourhoods.
A destination that complements Liverpool Waters’ growing leisure and cultural offer
Founded in 2021 by Andy Laird, Antony Smith and Darren Ryder, The Bus Yard is a popular, award‑winning events and hospitality brand from the North West, known for transforming outdoor spaces using converted buses and shipping containers. Having successfully created buzzing venues at Crosby Marina, Liverpool ONE and New Brighton, the team is now bringing its signature creativity and atmosphere to Princes Dock, working closely with waterside regeneration specialists Peel Waters, to deliver a destination that complements Liverpool Waters’ growing leisure and cultural offer.
Perfectly positioned within Liverpool’s coolest waterside district, Princes Dock is home to thousands of residents and workers, two major hotels – Malmaison and Crowne Plaza – and sits alongside key attractions including Liverpool’s Cruise Liner Terminal, welcoming more than 100 ships a year, and the Isle of Man Ferry Terminal, serving thousands of passengers annually.
Princes Dock is also home to Wyld Sauna, the UK’s first public floating sauna, which is currently expanding with a second sauna opening later this summer, and is just minutes from cultural landmarks such as The Liver Building and Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium. The Bus Yard’s arrival further enhances Princes Dock’s reputation as a dynamic place to spend time – whether you’re visiting the city, working nearby or living within the Liverpool Waters neighbourhood.
Loaded waffles, local ice cream, signature cocktails and refreshing spritzes
Open daily from 11am–8pm, The Bus Yard Liverpool Waters promises relaxed dockside socialising with sunshine views, live music, drinks in hand and a welcoming, feel‑good atmosphere. The dockside space is being fully refreshed with colourful planters, picnic benches, bean bags and deckchairs, while even the flooring is getting a fresh coat of paint. The container bar will receive a major makeover, with the kitchen container serving up indulgent, loaded desserts. As the sun sets, the teepee area will be illuminated with festoon lighting, introducing a warm, festival‑style evening glow.
Conveniently located next to the Princes Dock Multistorey Car Park, and within easy walking distance of Moorfields Station and Liverpool city centre landmarks, the venue is designed to be accessible and easy to drop into, whether for a daytime coffee, after‑work drink or sunset cocktail.
Visitors can expect a playful, indulgent menu designed for summer grazing, including ‘Waffle Shack’, offering freshly made, golden waffles served warm and loaded with flavour. Options include cinnamon sugar, banana split, Lotus Biscoff, Kinder Bueno Deluxe, Oreo Crunch and Eaton Mess. A selection of nostalgic favourites from the award‑winning, family‑run local dairy – Cheshire Farm Ice Cream will be served up celebrating classic flavours loved across generations.
For those after a drink, The Bus Yard at Liverpool Waters will offer signature cocktails and refreshing spritzes to cocktail buckets made for sharing, ice‑cold beers and ciders, wines and prosecco. There’s also bubble teas, coolers, slushies, soft drinks, teas and coffees – perfect for daytime chilling or sunset sipping by the water.
